OLED is a new and revolutionary means of illumination. OLED are light emitting panels made from organic (carbon based) materials that emit light when electricity is applied.
Saint-Gobain approached ENSCI-les Ateliers students with the opportunity to design ways of housing these panels with a view to implementing our designs on large scales, ideally to be used in office spaces and more. The result was a number of ceiling/wall ‘cadre’ frames to house the OLED, playing with both the light and dark spaces within the ‘cadre’. Each OLED’s form and position is changeable within the “cadre”, so as to maximise the capabilities of the OLED.
